I think when its written alone like in question

(Insertion, Deletion) it represents insert and delete command with respect to records which are ultimately DML commands.

Any command which will effect the structure of database' objects fall in DDL category.

insertion and deletion of records did not effect the structure of database.

I think there is some ambiguity in question.
