BELOW IS THE CASE STUDY AND QUESTIONS:
 
 
Underlying Concept:

Global brands are reshaping the local cultures in countries around the world. In some cases this

reshape has been very significant and in some parts of the world local cultures came up strongly

against this impact of global business practices and resulted in the absolute rejection of the global

brands. The underlying reasons behind acceptance and rejection of global brands depend upon a lot

of socio-cultural factors derived from religion, traditions, and norms of that particular region.

Assigned task:

You need to come up with the detailed description of any 02 brands having global appeal and

presence which were launched successfully in Pakistan within last 15 years and were warmly

welcomed and accepted by the household consumers due to cultural compatibility of these brands

with the local culture.

You also have to come up with the detailed description of any 01 brand having global appeal and

presence which was launched in Pakistan within last 15 years but was completely or partially rejected

by the household consumer market in Pakistan due to incompatibility of the brand with the local

cultural attributes.

Furnishing Directions :

You can select the brands related to household consumer market only. I.e. selection of brands

related to business to business market environment is not permissible.

You can choose brands related to any industry and any product category

Detailed description of brands ought to include:

Brief introduction of the brand including nature of product in terms of categorization

under a product category and an industry

􀀹

Year of Brand launch along with nature of business mode i.e. fully owned / Joint

venture/ franchise agreement/ licensing agreement/ social business enterprise

􀀹

Reasons encompassing cultural factors responsible for acceptance or rejection of that

particular brand. State any 05 reasons.
